ITW introduced Oppo Mobiles to the world of Sports branding and activation in India by helping them secure Title Sponsorship rights during the Champions League T20 tournament in 2014. Since then, Oppo Mobiles has established a strong foothold in the Indian market, with the deal they struck to be the team sponsors of the Indian Men’s Cricket team in 2017 remaining an outstanding brand activation for them.

Oppo used three of Indian Cricket’s hottest properties to launch the F7; Vice Captain Rohit Sharma, hard-hitting all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Spin Doctor Ravichandran Ashwin. The three spoke about their love for new technology and for clicking photographs on their mobiles, as all of them are avid Social Media users. The presence of the three cricketers helped greatly in generating a lot of youth appeal for the product and the brand. Being considered among the more stylish and outgoing cricketers, Sharma, Pandya, and Ashwin were the perfect combos to be selected as ambassadors for the much-awaited smartphone, with each of their individual personalities and traits going hand-in-hand with the promotion of the different features of the phone. As part of innovative brand activation, with the help of ITW Blitz, Oppo launched 3 special editions of the F7 mobile. The special editions all came with “Cricket cases” and with the signatures of the three brand ambassadors: Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Ravi Ashwin. ITW aims to associate the right celebrity with the right brand and aims to bring out the common values that the brand and the celebrity stand for/endorse.
