Job Description

The Digital Media Planner is an important member of a broader strategy team, which pursues and activates against meaningful insights with the goal of driving measurable results.

The Media Planner’s key skills-set includes deep analytical skills, math proficiency, significant creativity, and great attention to detail.

The Digital Media Planner will be responsible for planning, negotiating and executing digital media plans. The candidate must be able to manage day-to-day planning and analysis while maintaining strong relationships with publishers and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage digital media plans; negotiate and purchase media.
  • Manage day-to-day implementation, and optimization of campaign activities.
  • Manage campaign authorizations, budgets, and reconciliation process.
  • Analyze research data and media/marketing information.
  • Monitor and assess ongoing campaign performance; assist in strategic analysis of campaigns.
  • Gather and analyze marketing, industry, and consumer insights data to determine the client’s advertising and media needs.
  • Plans typically include analysis and recommendations on targeting, geography, scheduling, support level and budget.
  • Contribute to overall media strategy development. This will include the ability to understand and interpret briefs and the application of insights to develop marketing and communications solution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media suppliers and stay abreast of market conditions.
  • Ensure that campaigns are tracked and measured based on agreed KPIs and media efficiencies.
  • Campaign maintenance ensuring quality control and adherence to overall media plan objectives.
  • Active participation in account status meetings.
  • Interacting with internal and external partners to evaluate, implement, and maintain a media plan.
  • Preparation of client media performance documents.
  • Analysing the client’s campaign results and recommending refinements.
  • Active participant to the overall billing process – responsible for collecting and inputting data.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; Major in Marketing information management, business, mathematics would have an advantage.
  • Digital planning background is a must (Min 3-4 years).
  • Experience with campaign management and ad serving technology: DoubleClick, Prisma, Google Analytics, Facebook, AdWords, Programmatic.
  • Comfort with ad operations and ad verification tools.
  • Preferred working knowledge of third party Internet marketing research: comScore Media Metrix, NetRatings, and others.
  • Experience in analyzing data and market research.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting/math principles; basic statistical analysis experience is a plus.

  • Must be a self-starter, with strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
